Description

In Student led IEP meetings, the spotlight is on the most important person in the process: the student.

Students with IEPs attend their IEP meetings when it’s time for transition services, and that typically starts in middle school. But why aren’t we preparing our students for this when they are in elementary school? Why are they not involved sooner, and what about our students who are nonverbal or even moderately disabled? How can we get them involved, and what does it even look like?

Enter: Student Led IEP Meeting Toolkit. The only resource you need to get your students more involved in their learning and show the IEP Team (and most importantly the parents!) how much progress the child has made.

This has been great to incorporate into IEPs and parent/teacher conferences! Parents love to hear how their child is doing from their child more than they do from me. Thanks for a great resource!

Great way to make IEP’s more student centered.

  8. Kaitlyn H. –

A amazing resource that allows my students to feel apart of what they are working towards, while also being able to express what they like, don’t like, what they want to work on, etc. It truly shows the purpose of why we have an IEP meeting for the student. It also makes parents feel very excited knowing their child had great input.

  16. TeachingApril –

This toolkit has been amazing to get my students involved in their IEP meetings. It truly gives my students a way to express themselves. Many of my students become shy during their meeting, even with rehearsals of what they want to say. This toolkit lets them say what they want to say without necessarily using their voice.
