I said what I said. It’s never our students fai

I said what I said.

It’s never our students failing at their goals or failing towards progress.

And 🏳️ when our students are not progressing it does not mean we are failing as teachers…

It simply means that the IEP is failing the student. Which sucks, but it also is a good thing because now we know what isn’t working. Now we can make an amendment to update the IEP to make it work for the student.

IEPs are living, breathing documents. Nothing is set in stone, and if you, as the teacher or parent, notice a trend in data that the student isn’t making progress… get the IEP team together to analyze that data and make changes.

Students shouldn’t have the same exact IEP goals and objectives year after year with the same exact supports. That’s the definition of insanity, right?!
