The Values That Guide US

Collaboration

As teachers, we do so much alone. But we’ve seen how much everyone benefits when we truly work together!

Integrity

We value an honest approach to special education, IEPs, and the struggles + successes that we all experience.

Asking for Help

We’re never afraid to say, “I don’t know!” We follow up by doing the research and learning what we need to find an answer.

Meet Our Founder

Hi, I’m Stephanie! Or as you may know me around the internet or on social media – Mrs. D.

Education is my passion, and I’ve known I wanted to be a teacher since I was a kid – taking extra worksheets home from school and forcing my brother and best friend to be my “students!”

I was never officially trained to write IEPs. Not in college and not throughout the different schools I worked in… in four different states, both urban and suburban locations, for public and charter schools.

As I navigated the tricky IEP process on my own, I broke every “no no” rule out there. From writing up an IEP the day before a meeting to writing them at home on my own time, I’ve done it all. But it wasn’t working – for me or for my students.

So I developed my own IEP writing timeline, set boundaries for different tasks that needed to be done, and started collaborating with everyone – other teachers, parents, administrators, and students.

And what I discovered is that you really can write an effective, efficient IEP that works better for the student and their family. You just have to be intentional about the process.

Once I learned what worked for me, I set out to share the system, tools, and strategies with other special education teachers… and The Intentional IEP was born!

We’ve helped hundreds of teachers save major time, avoid lots of stress, and support their students’ growth, and I would love to help you, too.
